Please check Google and the VirtualBox Manual before asking simple questions. PLUS a detailed description of the problem, what research you have done, and the steps you have taken to fix it. Whether you have installed Guest Additions and/or Host Extensions (this solves 90% of the problems we see) Whether you have enabled VT-x/AMD-V (applicable to all hosts running 6.1 and above) and disabled HyperV (applicable to Windows 10 Hosts) This is just a friendly reminder in case you missed it. Links for Windows NT 4 and SP6 (WinWorld) I am 100% certain that Guest Additions should work with Windows NT 4.0 as I have done it in the past, and that there are multiple places that say things like 'Windows Nt works with Guest Additions' or vice versa. I thought maybe I would have to manually change it, but I went to the Display Properties and I couldn't change the resolution nor the colour bit rate. Before it had booted up, I was expecting to have full 256/32-bit colour and native resolution, but to no avail, it was on 16 colours and on 800圆00. This time there was no pop-up for SP6 and "installed" with no errors and rebooted again. After installing SP6 with no problems, I rebooted the VM and went to install Guest Additions again. Then I went to install the Guest Additions, it said that it recognised the OS as Windows NT 4 (which was correct) and gave me a pop-up saying that it is recommended to install Service Pack 6 for Windows NT 4, so I exited setup and downloaded Service Pack 6 from WinWorld (which is the same place I got the ISO for Windows NT 4.0 Workstation). I have successfully installed it clean with no problems during setup. I am running Windows 7 Home Premium as the host and in this situation, Windows NT 4.0 Workstation as the Guest. I am currently using Virtualbox 5.2.44 (I can't use the latest ones as they always need VT-x/AMD-V for some reason). ![]()
