![]() ![]() The main purpose of the 1746-P4 power supply module is to provide the backplane power to all of the devices that are installed in the same chassis as it. They can program this power supply with a computer if that computer runs the RSLogix 500 software. The users can program it with the RSLogix 500 programming software. The Allen-Bradley 1746-P4 SLC 500 power supply module can operate with errors or damage in an ambient temperature range of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius or 32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. This power supply can be protected with a fuse such as an Allen-Bradley 1746-F1 fuse or an equivalent and similarly-rated fuse. ![]() The 1746-P4 power supply module is made to power up controllers and modules from the Allen-Bradley 1746 product line and it is meant to be installed in an Allen-Bradley 1746 chassis. Its output voltage range is 18 to 30 Volts DC and it can supply up to 92 Watts of power to the machines that it is connected to. The input voltage range for the 1746-P4 power supply module is from 120 to 220 Volts AC. This power supply uses a jumper that matches its input voltage rating. The 1746-P4 module is an SLC 500 series power supply module manufactured by Allen-Bradley. Storage temperatures should be between -40-85 degrees Celsius (-40-185 degrees Fahrenheit). Operating temperatures for the unit should remain between 0-60 degrees Celsius (32-140 degrees Fahrenheit). The 1746-P4 is conveniently sized to save space with dimensions of 140 x 110 x 145 mm (5.5 x 4.3 x 5.7 in) and a weight of only 1.1 kg (2.5 lb). The fuses for the unit is soldered into place for protection. There are a maximum of two 14 AWG wires per terminal. The total output power, including user, has a maximum of 70 Watts. The backplane output current for the 1746-P4 measures 10A at 5V dc and 2.88A at 24V dc. ![]() The user output current is 1.0A at 24V dc, and the user output voltage range is 20.4-27.6V dc. ![]() The maximum real input power is 92 Watts. The nominal input voltage for the 1746-P4 is 120 or 220V ac, and the input voltage range is 85-132V ac or 170-265V ac. In case of power losses, the 1746-P4 has a hold-up time of 20ms for a full load and 3000 ms so the system can withstand brief power losses without corrupting the operation of the full system. This LED provides extra convenience when monitoring if your supply is properly working. The 1746-P4 features an LED which indicates that the power is on. Power supplies are required for providing power to each I/O slot and the processor. The separate power supplies for the SLC 500 systems require direct mounting onto the left end of the 1746 I/O chassis. The Allen-Bradley 1746-P4 is a power supply of the SLC 500 series. ![]()
